Little Sydney Auckland

snapchat-903874824933628116.jpgMaybe it’s cause I’m from Auckland.

It’s like Sydney before it took Crack. It’s mellow,  average to sunbathe, but nevertheless is my home in Nz. And a damn good one if that.

It’s really underestimated. But you gotta do it right.  From a locals perspective.  Otherwise you may as well just stay at customs.

Five hot tips for my home town, Auckland:

1. Auckland is expensive.  Shock Horror. You’re dreaming if you can think you’ll get a $3 market dinner and $0.50c water.  You’re not in the Gili T night markets tonight my friends . But you get what you pay for.Auckland has some of the best food, but it ain’t cheap

The cheapest meal you can find will either be ‘fush and chups’ (envision the accent) with a greasy yet delicious bonus scallop potato.  Or just going to the supermarket and make a mean feed👍

2. Public transport is expensive and sucks.  But alas, it is public transport and pretty much caters to the places you need. Next best thing from those things attached to you.

3. ROAD TRIP IT!  No better place. Auckland is close to everything. Waterfalls, surf beaches, volcanoes, vineyards, islands you name it. And bless, all these things are free. Spend 20mins insta stalking and you will find some amazing locations in Auckland, not just your usual insta hoes.

4. Walk to Mission Bay from the city. Stroll along the harbourside. Spare about 2-3hours. Grab a coffee and a hot date. Trust me, you can impress someone with $3.50.

5. Sushi. I know it sounds weird.  But at a dollar a piece how can you go wrong? Auckland actually delivers some alright sushi. Who would’ve thought 🌸🌸🍙🍙

  1. Yeah sushi, public transport and everything. I have heard that there are improvements underway in the transport. Where did you buy that ice cream?! Yummy it looks!

    1. Just up north of Auckland in Matakana village in a wee old tin trailer next door to one of the surf shops. Absolutely amazing. Just fresh local strawberries and yogurt 🙂
